MARANELA
Heritage
Maranela — the Tatishvili Family Wine Cellar, in the historic village of Marana, Shida Kartli.
Where ancient qvevri still rest beneath the soil, the Tatishvili family continues Georgia's centuries-old winemaking tradition. The very name Marana recalls a time when almost every household kept its own cellar, and winemaking was an inseparable part of everyday life.
According to local legend, King David the Builder was especially fond of the wines of this region. Historical sources even mention the “Marana Version” — a traditional folk song celebrating the village as a home of wine, music, and community.
Our cellar is an intimate family space where every guest is welcomed with genuine Georgian hospitality, and every bottle reflects our family's passion, dedication, and deep respect for the land that has nurtured wine for centuries.
Our mission
To preserve and celebrate Georgia's winemaking heritage through a modern vision of quality, craftsmanship, and authentic hospitality — creating wines and chacha that reflect our family's story and the culture of Marana.
More than wine
The most memorable evenings begin with a single song. Our winery welcomes guests with musical instruments that anyone is invited to play — and often a toast grows into shared music, laughter, and friendship around the table.
